Over the course of the week, the United States produced 1.783 million net tons (NT) of domestic raw steel.

AISI: U.S. Weekly Raw Steel Output Edged Higher

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The most recent weekly domestic production data from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) shows that the week ending June 14, 2025, saw a about 4.70% increase in U.S. weekly raw steel production. This is in contrast to what was produced in the same week the previous year.

The United States produced 1.783 million net tons (NT) of domestic raw steel during the week. The domestic mill capacity was utilized at a rate of 79.4%. Recall that production was just 1.703 million NT during the same week last year, with a little lower capacity utilization rate of 76.7%.

In comparison to the week ending June 7, 2025, when 1,785,000 net tons were produced and the capability utilization rate was 79.5%, the output decreased slightly by 0.1% in the week ending June 14, 2025.

With 780,000 net tons, the Southern region produced the most. Over the course of the week, the Great Lakes region generated 556,000 net tons. North East-129, Midwest-253, and Western-65 are the other regions' productions (in thousand net tons).

As of June 14, 2025, the adjusted year-to-date output was 39.855 million net tons, with a capability utilization rate of 75.5%. The production stayed relatively constant when compared to the same period in 2024, when it was 39.868 million net tons with a capacity utilization rate of 76.2%.
