Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Show Mixed Trend on the Index- December 23, 2025

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese scrap metal prices recorded mixed trend on the ScrapMonster Price Index  as of Tuesday, December 23, 2025.

• Copper: Mostly declined
• Aluminum: No change
• Brass/Bronze: Slight decline
• Stainless Steel: Widespread increase
• Steel: Stable prices

Copper Scrap Prices

The #1 Copper Bare Bright and #1 Copper Wire and Tubing witnessed a dip in prices by CNY 350 per MT each over the previous day.

The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also edged lower by CNY 350 per MT.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices were down by CNY 150 per MT.

The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery recorded a dip of CNY 50 per MT over the previous day.

Copper Transformer and Cu Yokes scrap prices were flat on the Index.

Cu/Al Radiators prices edged lower by CNY 50 per MT.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices held steady as of Tuesday, December 23, 2025.

Heater Cores prices were down by CNY 100 per MT.

In the meantime, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices remained flat on the Index.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions witnessed no change in prices over the previous day.

Aluminum Ingots prices also remained flat.

The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers were unchanged on the Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices held steady on the Index.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices reported no variation as of December 23, 2025.

UBC and Zorba 90% INF prices were flat from the previous day’s price.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady as of December 23, 2025.

Cast Iron Scrap reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

• 201 SS: Increased by CNY 150 per MT
• 304 SS Solid: Edged higher by CNY 200 per MT
• 304 SS Turning: Recorded a jump of CNY 200 per MT
• 309 SS: Saw an upward movement of CNY 300 per MT

310 SS prices witnessed a jump of CNY 400 per MT.

Also, 316 SS Solid and Shred SS scrap prices were up by CNY 300 per MT and CNY 200 per MT respectively as of Tuesday, December 23, 2025.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded slight decline as of December 23, 2025.

• Brass Radiator: Held steady
• Red Brass: Dropped by CNY 50 per MT
• Yellow Brass: Recorded a decline of CNY 50 per MT
