BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese scrap metal prices recorded no variation on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Friday, January 2, 2026.
- Copper: Held steady
- Aluminum: No variation
- Brass/Bronze: Flat trend
- Stainless Steel: Witnessed no change
- Steel: Remained stable
Copper, Aluminum, Brass/Bronze, Stainless Steel and Steel scrap prices held steady on the Index.
Copper Scrap Prices
The #1 Copper Bare Bright and #1 Copper Wire and Tubing witnessed no change in prices over the previous day.
The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also were flat on the Index.
#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices were unchanged. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery recorded no variation over the previous day.
Copper Transformer and Cu Yokes scrap prices held steady on the Index.
Cu/Al Radiator prices witnessed no fluctuation upon comparison with the prior day.
Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices were stable as of Friday, January 2, 2026.
Heater Cores prices were unchanged on the Index.
Also, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices recorded no change on the Index.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
6063 Extrusions witnessed no change over the previous day.
Aluminum Ingots prices also were flat on the Index.
The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers were unchanged on the Index.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices registered no change on the Index.
Old Cast and Old Sheet prices held steady as of January 2, 2026.
UBC and Zorba 90% INF prices recorded no change from the previous day’s price.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 HMS prices held steady as of January 2, 2026.
Cast Iron Scrap reported no change in prices.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
- 201 SS: Flat trend
- 304 SS Solid: Held steady
- 304 SS Turning: Recorded no change
- 309 SS: No change
