Mixed Aluminum Turnings consist of clean, uncorroded aluminum borings, turnings and grindings. Materials containing iron in excess of 10% and/or free magnesium or stainless steel or containing highly flammable cutting compounds are not accepted under this category.
Aluminum Turnings are extremely small shavings made of aluminum which are usually remains from various manufacturing processes. It must be free of excessive oil and steel.
According to the latest Scrap Specifications Circular 2017 released by the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI), Mixed Aluminum Turnings are categorized under the ISRI Code ‘Telic’.
