worldsteel Published List of World’s Top Steel Producers

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The World Steel Association (worldsteel) published a ranking of top-most steel producing companies across the globe.

China-based China Baowu Group was the top steel manufacturer in 2023 and 2024, according to the most recent rating, which was released in early June. In 2023 and 2024, the firm produced 130.77 and 130.09 million tonnes (Mt), respectively.

ArcelorMittal, situated in Luxembourg, was the second-largest producer, with 68.52 Mt and 65 Mt of production in 2023 and 2024, respectively. 60% of AM/NS India is included in the production mentioned above.

Ansteel Group, based in China, came in third. The company produced 55.89 Mt of steel annually in 2023, with a little greater production of 59.55 Mt the previous year.

In 2014 and 2023, Nippon Steel Corporation, a steel manufacturer based in Japan, ranked fourth globally. The company produced 43.66 million tons of steel in 2023 and 43.64 million tons in 2024, which was essentially unchanged. Nippon Steel Stainless Steel Corporation, Sanyo Special Steel, Ovako, 40% AM/NS India, and 22% USIMINAS are among the companies whose output numbers are included.

The HBIS Group, Shagang Group, Jianlong Group, POSCO Holdings, Shougang Group, and Tata Steel Group are among the other businesses that are listed among the top 10 worldwide steel producers.
