He will succeed Cees ten Broek, who will now serve as an advisor to the organization until his retirement later this year.

WorldAutoSteel Appointed Ingo Olschewski as its New Director

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Ingo Olschewski was named the new director of WorldAutoSteel, the trade group that represents manufacturers of automobile steel. Cees ten Broek, who will now advise the organization until his retirement later this year, will be replaced by him.

What will be his role?

Olschewski will spearhead the trade group's initiatives to promote the use of steel for next-generation passenger transportation, having over 20 years of expertise in the automotive sector. He will collaborate closely with participating businesses to investigate novel ways that steel could satisfy the changing demands of automakers.

Expectations by Worldsteel Director

"Ingo's extensive strategic experience working with OEMs and suppliers will help the automotive industry reduce lifecycle emissions and deliver more sustainable solutions," said Dr. Edwin Basson, Director General, Worldsteel. Building on Cees' solid foundation, he will guide WorldAutoSteel into this next stage. "The organization is in good hands," he continued.

Olschewski's Experience and Academic Qualification 

Olschewski was previously Head of Strategy & Consulting at fka, a German provider of automotive engineering services.

He graduated from RWTH Aachen University in Germany with a degree in business administration, with a focus on international accounting and commercial law.
