World Steel Association Declares Shortlist for 10th Steelie Awards

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The World Steel Association (worldsteel) announced shortlist for the 10th Steelie Awards. The awards recognize individuals and member companies for their outstanding contributions to the global steel industry over the past one-year period.

The shortlisted companies for the ‘Excellence in Digital Communications’ category of the award are MetinvestHolding LLC, POSCO, Tata Steel, Tenaris and Ternium. POSCO, Tata Steel Limited, Nippon Steel Corporation and Ternium have been shortlisted for the “Excellence in Communications Programmes’ award. The shortlist for ‘Excellence in Education and Training’ category of awards comprises of Gerdau SA, Tata Steel Europe, Tata Steel Limited, Tenaris, Ternium and TMK(PAO).

The final competitors for ‘Excellence in Lifecycle Assessment’ award are Baotou Iron & Steel (Group) Co., Ltd., HYUNDAI Steel Company, Tata Steel Europe and Tata Steel Limited. The winner of ‘Excellence in Sustainability’ award will be selected from ArcelorMittal, BlueScope Steel Limited, JSW Steel Limited and Tata Steel Limited. The shortlist for ‘Innovation of the Year’ award includes Ansteel Group Corporation Limited, China Steel Corporation (CSC), HBIS Group Co., Ltd. and POSCO.

The contenders for the ‘Journalist of the Year’ award are Hongmei Li of MySteel Global, Elena Mazneva of Bloomberg, Paul Lim and Maria Tanatar of Fastmarkets.

The 10th Steelie Award winners will be declared on 14th October at the Annual Dinner of the 2019 General Assembly in Monterrey, Mexico.
