SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Aluminum Association lauded the efforts by the Congressional Aluminum Caucus in creating an aluminium import monitoring system. It must be noted that the co-chairs Reps. Suzan DelBene(D-WA), Larry Bucshon (R-IN), Dave Loebsack (D-IA) and Bill Johnson (R-OH) had sent a letter to Commerce Secretary Wilbus Ross demanding the same.

Joe Quinn, Vice President of Public Affairs at the Aluminum Association appreciated the effort on behalf of the association and nearly 162,000 Americans working in the aluminium sector. The proposd import monitoring system is a necessary step towards ensuring that all aluminium producers operate on a level-playing field. Furthermore, it will put an end to entry of unfairly traded metal into the country, Quinn added.
