Aluminum Association Elects New Chair, Adds New Board Members

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Aluminum Association announced election of new chair and addition of new members to its board of directors. The trade body also announced the winner of the 2019 Marlan T. Boultinghouse Award. The announcements were made during the recently concluded annual meeting of the Association in Washington, D.C.

Marco Palmieri, Senior Vice President and President of Novelis North America will be the new chair, replacing Michelle O’Neill, Senior Vice President of Senior Vice President of Global Government Affairs & Sustainability at Alcoa, who has completed her two-year term. Also, Buddy Stemple, CEO of Constellium Rolled Products in Ravenswood, WV has been elected as the new Vice Chair of the association.

Commenting on his appointment, Marco Palmieri said that he is humbled and honoured to chair the association during the pivotal time. He promised to work in collaboration with the membership in implementing the recently launched public policy map, The Aluminum Agenda, towards creation of a more sustainable aluminium industry. Incidentally, the association has added 10 new member companies since April this year, thus making the total membership to 128 companies.

Mike Belwood, Vice President, Government Affairs at Arconic has been selected as the winner of the Marlan T. Boultinghouse Award for his esteemed service to the North American aluminum industry. He is the 19th recipient of the prestigious award, which is regarded as the highest award given away by the North American aluminum industry.
