Tata Steel BSL is the first company in Indian steel industry to introduce electric trucks for steel transportation.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Tata Steel BSL Limited- the largest manufacturer of auto-grade steel in India bagged the prestigious Energy And Environment Foundation Global Sustainability Award 2021. It won the Gold Category award for Logistic and Supply Chain. The award is given in recognition of the company’s exemplary logistic and sustainable supply chain management.

The Chief Operating Officer, Subodh Pandey, Chief, Environment, Saroj Kumar Banerjee, and Chief Logistics Officer, Subrata Basak received the award on behalf of the company.
Tata Steel BSL is the first company in Indian steel industry to introduce electric trucks for steel transportation. In order to cut logistics cost, it has entered into partnership with other companies towards sale of common materials. The other sustainability innovations include overhead electrification of railway yard and efficient customer complaint tracking system, which also contributed to delivering positive impacts on the environment.
The Global Environment Awards are organized by New Delhi based the Energy And Environment Foundation. The winners are judged through a thorough evaluation of nominations by a jury comprising of eminent personalities from government agencies, academia and industry.
