SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Tenaris announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saipem and SIAD to commence the design phase of the new carbon dioxide capture and utilization (CCU) plant at the Tenaris facility in Dalmine, northern Italy. In the initial phase of the agreement, the three companies will join hands to undertake a feasibility study.
The project aims to capture approximately 30 tons of carbon dioxide produced per day by the thermoelectric power plant at the facility. It will use Saipem CO2 Solutions proprietary technology based on innovative enzymatic process to capture carbon dioxide, which will then be used by SIAD as a refrigerant gas with a reduced environmental impact. The project promises to use cutting-edge technological solutions.
