Tenaris Boosts Production at Hickman, Arkansas Mill

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Tenaris is seen boosting production at its Hickman, Arkansas welded mill. The company has been reported significant growth in manufacturing across the U.S. since early-2021. The increased manufacturing activity is in response to growing customer demand in the region.

During lean periods in 2020 and 2021, the employees were engaged in training programmes aimed at enhancing their skillset. The mill incorporated several key improvements in the latter half of the previous year. Since then it has been steadily adding capacity and volumes, said the company news release.

Since the commencement of the industrial expansion plan in October 2020, the U.S. team has seen nearly 1,200 additions. The addition of workforce is expected to continue in 2022 as well. Incidentally, the company is looking to hire additional 250 employees at the facility. The job opportunities include mechanical and electrical maintenance positions, quality inspectors, NDT technicians, production and logistics workers.

Luca Zanotti, President, Tenaris US said that the rising demand situation for domestically made pipe makes it the ideal time for a meaningful restart of the welded production. The scaling up of the mill is part of the ramp up across the U.S., which began in 2020, Zanotti added.
