Ohio Steelmaker to Build Modern Manufacturing Facility in Athens

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Ohio-based Gregory Industries announced plans to build a $30 million manufacturing facility in Athens. The investment is expected to bring around 100 new jobs in the region.

The company will build a 325,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility in Elm Industrial Park. The construction of the proposed plant is expected to begin in March 2022, with operations likely to start next fall. The project demonstrates the strong partnership between Gregory Industries, Limestone County and the City of Athens.

Matt Gregory, CEO, Gregory Industries noted that the new facility will expand the company’s regional manufacturing capability, thereby allowing it to serve its customers in the Southeast in a faster and more cost-effective manner. The company is excited to grow in Athens, he added.

The facility boosts prospects of creating more jobs and more business in northern Alabama. It thanked the City of Athens and Limestone County and stated that it looks forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership.

Collin Dally, Chairman, Limestone County Commission said that the County is excited for this new investment. Furthermore, he welcomed the growth and noted that it looks forward to being a part of the company’s future success.
