Steel Trade Body Announces Proud Winners of 10th Steelie Awards

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The World Steel Association (worldsteel) announced winners of the 10^th Steelie Awards. The declaration of the awards was made during the Annual Dinner of the association’s 2019 General Assembly on October 14^th in Monterrey, Mexico.

Tata Steel Limited was named the winner of the ‘Excellence in digital communications’ category. The shortlisted companies for the award included Metinvest Holding LLC, POSCO, Tenaris and Ternium. The ‘Innovation of the year’ award was won by POSCO for the development of PosART- the inkjet-printed steel and its manufacturing technology. Also, AecelorMittal’s Climate Action Report 2019 was nominated as the winner of ‘Excellence in sustainability’ award.

The LCA tool to assess the sustainability of new product developments by Tata Steel Europe won the ‘Excellence in Life Cycle Assessment’ award. The ‘Excellence in education and training’ category of award went to Ternium. The winner of the ‘Excellence in communications programmes’ was Tata Steel Limited for their campaign titled #WeAlsoMakeTomorrow. Also, Paul Lim of Fastmarkets was adjudged the winner of ‘Journalist of the year’ award.

The Steelie awards, judged by selected expert panels, recognize outstanding contributions to global steel industry by individuals and member companies.
