The upcycling initiative has prevented more than 458,000 pounds of electronic waste from ending up in landfills. The initiative accepts returned or damaged products from retailers and refurbishes them. Also, the products which cannot be upcycled will be responsibly recycled, thus preventing pollution and carbon emissions.

As part of the latest initiative, the company plans to use 100% recycled packaging by the end of the current year. By reducing packaging size, it aims to reduce the quantity of materials used. Skullcandy plans to completely eliminate the use of plastics in its products by 2023, thereby shifting to FSC certified paper products.

In order to boost recycling, the company will continue to accept used headphones, irrespective of the brand, by offering discounts. The collected items will be responsibly recycled.
