The total shipments of packaging sheets and specialty packaging increased by about 5% during the month compared to the same period previous year.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Packaging Papers Monthly Report for June 2025 was published by the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA).
When compared to the same period last year, the total exports of packaging sheets and specialized packaging rose by almost 5% throughout the month. Year over year, the operating rate rose by 5.8%. Compared to the first half of 2024, shipments of bleached and unbleached bags and sacks decreased 9.5% in June 2025, according to AF&PA. According to the data, inventories have decreased by 5% since May of this year.

According to the research, there was a 6% drop in the overall exports of writing and printing paper in June 2025 compared to the previous year. Paper inventory levels rose for the second consecutive month as compared to the previous month.
The United States' exports of mechanical (MECH), coated free sheet (CFS), and uncoated free sheet (UFS) paper showed a mixed trend during the month. The amount of UFS inventory rose by 4% from May 2025. However, compared to the previous month, the CFS inventory levels decreased by 1%.
The first half of 2025 saw a little 2% growth in U.S. shipments of MECH papers, according to the AF&PA study. Additionally, exports of CFS paper rose by 3% from June 2024.
