SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): U-Recycle Initiative Africa- a leading non-profit organisation aims to install innovation hubs in Nigeria and across Africa with the aim of tackling the rising plastic waste and pollution in the region.
According to Oluwaseyi Moetoh, Co-Founder, U-Recycle Initiative Africa, it intends to join hands with Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to ensure widespread implementation of their programmes in the fight against plastic pollution. Moetoh was talking about the activities and plans for the current year.

The youth-led initiative has empowered approximately 350 young women in its capacity building programmes. Also, students from more than 100 universties in Nigeria have representation in the initiative.
The organisation plans to expand its PlasticWize Fellowship, which in turn will empower more young women across universities in Nigeria and Africa, Moetoh said. It must be noted that the organisation had recently selected 30 young women from six universities across Nigeria as the inaugural PlasticWize Fellows to lead change across Nigeria towards tackling plastic pollution,
The organisation aims to provide education and awareness of the environment in order to bridge the gap.
