SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has ordered the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) to submit report on nearly 5,000 e-waste processing facilities operating illegally in and around the capital city of Delhi, India. A recent study conducted by non-profit Toxic Links had identified multiple processing facilities, which were found to violate all environmental norms.
The bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel ordered that DPCC should coordinate with District Magistrates and other local authorities and furnish a factual and action taken report within a month by e-mail. The matter has been listed for next hearing on December 23rd.
