Mondi to Invest Big in Corrugated Packaging Operations

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Mondi announced plans to invest €280 million in Corrugated Packaging operations across four countries. This will significantly boost its production and help it serve the customers more efficiently. The investment demonstrates the company’s commitment to its customers, its people and to sustainable production.
According to the company press release, the investment includes nearly €185 million across its central and eastern European Corrugated Solutions plant network and €95 million at Mondi Świecie’s containerboard mill in Poland. These are part of earlier announced investment of €1 billion in expansionary capital investment projects this year aimed at accelerating the growth of sustainable production.

Furthermore, it will provide excellent job opportunities to its employees, by operating state-of-the-art machinery with world-class safety standards, said Markus Gartner, CEO, Corrugated Packaging.
As per estimates, the European demand for corrugated packaging is projected to grow by 2-4% in the medium term.
