SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Mondi Group announced publication of 2021 Sustainable Development Report that highlights sustainability achievements and financial results for the previous year. The company delivered strong results and notable progress on ambitious sustainability targets during 2021.
The company generated €1.3 billion of cash from operations. The basic earnings per share at 155.9 euro cents were up significantly by 30% from 2020. The company emerges as the leading producer of virgin containerboard and paper bag in Europe. In addition, it was also the top kraft paper producer in the world and topmost containerboard producer in emerging Europe.

According to the report, 78% of the company’s revenue came from products that are reusable, recyclable or compostable. It achieved zero fatality and total recordable case rate (TRCR) milestone of 0.62. Mondi Group reported 25% reduction in greenhouse gas emission by its mills, compared with 2014 baseline.
Philip Yas, Chairman, Mondi Group noted that the company’s financial strength coupled with the team’s agility will help the company navigate difficult environments in pursuit of its long-term objectives. Mondi is well placed to address growth opportunities in packaging markets, while delivering sustainable value to its stakeholders, he added.
