SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Liberty Gold has advanced the permitting process for its Black Pine project in southeastern Idaho, marking a significant milestone in its development timeline. The company confirmed that the United States Forest Service has issued a notice of intent to prepare an environmental impact statement under the National Environmental Policy Act, formally initiating the federal environmental review phase.

This process will involve public consultation, technical assessments, and environmental analysis, culminating in a final impact statement and record of decision. The review will be conducted in coordination with federal and state agencies, ensuring a structured and transparent evaluation.
The Black Pine project, located in the Great Basin region, is one of the largest oxide gold deposits in the United States, with indicated resources of approximately 4.2 million ounces. It is expected to produce up to 2.2 million ounces over a 17-year mine life.
The project has also been included in the FAST-41 initiative, enabling a streamlined and coordinated permitting framework. Following the announcement, Liberty Gold shares rose over 6%, reflecting strong investor confidence as feasibility studies continue toward a technical report later this year.
