NexGold Goldboro Gold Project Achieved Critical Permitting Milestone

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Goldboro Gold Project has been granted the critical Industrial Approval (IA) by the Government of Nova Scotia. The permit is one of the last permits needed from the province, before commencing construction works and future operations.

The IA outlines the terms and conditions to be followed by the company while operating the project. The initial application for the IA for the project was made in end-August, 2023. The company received a notice from the provincial government in June this year, stating that its application for the IA was deemed complete.

The construction of the Goldboro gold mine is set to commence next year. The project has a 15-year timeline that includes development, 11 years of operation, and remediation. It is expected to generate approximately $528 million in tax revenue over a period of 15 years. It must be noted that the project had received its environmental assessment approval in June 2022.

Commenting on the development, Kevin Bullock, president and CEO of NexGold said that the company is pleased to have received its Industrial Approval for the Goldboro Gold Project. He thanked Honourable Timothy Halman, Nova Scotia Minister of Environment and Climate Change for his support. Furthermore, he applauded the hard work by the NexGold team in achieving this successful outcome.
