SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): UK-headquartered specialist metal recycling company Scanmetals announced that it has joined the Aluminum Packaging Recycling Organization (ALUPRO) as its latest member. The company, which specializes in recovery of non-ferrous metals from incinerator bottom ash (IBA) has operations across the Scandinavian region as well as Germany.
Andrew King, Managing Director, Scanmetals said that capturing metals during energy recovery is an important circular process. By sorting the IBA, the company captures approximately 39,000 tonnes of ferrous metals every year, including nearly 26,000 tonnes of aluminum. Through its unique process, Scanmetals play an instrumental role in diverting valuable resources away from landfill, King added.
