The acquisition enhances InterPro's access to ferrous and non-ferrous scrap.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): InterPro Recycling has completed the acquisition of Camrose, Alberta-based leading scrap metal recycler, K&K Prairie Recycling Services. The deal is primarily aimed at strengthening its domestic steel supply chain. The financial terms of the transaction were not revealed.

The acquisition enhances InterPro's access to ferrous and non-ferrous scrap. Furthermore, the deal is expected to improve supply reliability, increase operational efficiency, and expand its footprint in Alberta's recycling market. Following the acquisition, the business will operate under the name InterPro Prairie Recycling Inc.

According to InterPro, the transaction supports its long-term strategy of expanding scrap sourcing capabilities while increasing future melt capacity at its Regina, Saskatchewan-based steel production platform. A stronger domestic recycling network will help secure a stable supply of Canadian scrap metal across its steel manufacturing operations, the company noted.

InterPro, a division of InterPro Pipe & Steel, describes itself as Canada's only producer of tubular steel for the energy industry, manufactured entirely within the country. Meanwhile, K&K Prairie Recycling provides a wide range of services, including scrap metal collection and processing, industrial decommissioning, torch cutting, brokerage, and metal marketing.
