Mazoon Diary Reached New Agreement to Boost Plastic Recycling

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Mazoon Diary Company-a private equity initiative, supported by the Food Security Policy of the Sultanate of Oman announced that it has reached a new agreement with the Recycling Services Company, aimed at boosting plastic and solid waste recycling.

The agreement to this effect was signed between Ahmed bin Muhammad al Ghafri, Chief Support Officer, Mazoon Dairy and Mahmoud bin Abdullah al Ameri, CEO, Recycling Services Company. The agreement coincides with the celebration of Omani Environment Day on January 8th.

According to Ahmed bin Muhammad al Ghafri, the agreement is the first-of-its-kind in the country. The agreement will result in inclusion of more types and quantities of waste, including plastic and other solid wastes.  The company has dedicated spaces to sort various categories of waste and recycling in its facilities, which ensures effective waste management, he added.

Mazoon Diary Company expects to recycle around 250 tonnes of plastic, which will be expanded further as the facility undergoes expansion of operations in future.

The company is known for its earlier initiatives including afforestation of its site and imposition of ban on plastic bags.
