Li-Cycle Join Hands with Univar Solutions on New Battery Recycling Project

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Mississauga, Ontario-based lithium-ion battery recycler Li-Cycle Corp. announced that it has partnered with Illinois-based Onsite Solutions provider Univar Solutions to offer sustainable recycling solutions for end-of-life lithium-ion batteries. The partnership will process scrap batteries collected from various sources including the North American electric vehicle manufacturing market.

The Univar’s on-site collection, sorting and waste diversion process will see significant enhancement through the newly announced partnership with Li-Cycle. Battery recycler will employ their proprietary commercial process to recover materials from end-of-life lithium-ion batteries. The partnership will leverage the twin benefits of Li-Cycle’s strong partnerships with world’s leading automotive and battery manufacturers as well as Univar’s association with various sectors including automotive, aerospace, consumer electronics and manufacturing.

Ajay Kochhar, co-founder and CEO of Li-Cycle stated that the new partnership will deliver total waste management solutions to its existing and new customers. Also, Stephen Molica, vice president of services, Univar Solutions noted that the partnership will enhance best-in-class sustainability solutions for its OnSite Services portfolio.
