The facility is strategically located in close proximity to its existing battery and manufacturing scrap supply network in the Southwestern United States, which in turn will further optimize logistics and other efficiencies for recycling services. The facility has the capacity to process equivalent of batteries required for nearly 20,000 electric vehicles per annum. The facility will boost Arizona’s EV battery recycling capabilities, while creating significant number of new quality jobs in the region.

Meantime, the company’s Alabama Spoke facility is scheduled to be operational in Q3 this year. Together, these two facilities will have a combined processing capacity of 30,000 tonnes per annum. By the end of next year, the company plans to raise its lithium-ion battery processing capacity across North America and Europe to around 65,000 tonnes per annum, said the company press release.
