Ingram Micro Opens New Plainfield ITAD Facility

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Irvine, California-headquartered Ingram Micro Commerce & Lifecycle Services announced the opening of a new IT asset disposition (ITAD) facility in Plainfield, Indiana. This is the company’s second such facility in Indianapolis area and the fourth in the country.

According to the company news release, the opening of the new facility is in line with its commitment to meet the growing need for safe and secure disposal of IT assets. The newest facility spreads over 200,000 square feet and is expected to almost triple the processing capacity in the Indianapolis area. It will offer a range of services including data erasure and drive destruction, processing, remarketing and responsible recycling. Ingram Micro expects to add nearly 150 new jobs to the Indianapolis metro area.

Todd Zegers, vice president, ITAD, Commerce & Lifecycle Services, Ingram noted that the opening of the new ITAD facility in greater Indianapolis will help the company meet the tremendous need for safe and secure disposal of IT assets. Further, he assured that the company is committed to add additional processing capacity to meet the growing demand for ITAD services in the country.

Ingram Micro’s other ITAD processing units in the U.S. are located in Chandler, Arizona; Indianapolis; and Pine Brook, New Jersey.
