Ingram Micro Opens Modern IT Asset Disposition Unit in Lima, Peru

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Irvine, California-headquartered Ingram Micro Commerce & Lifecycle Services has expanded its South American footprint by opening a new ITAD facility in the Peruvian capital city of Lima. This is the company’s third facility in South America. The new facility will offer a wide range of services including data erasure and drive destruction, processing, remarketing and recycling.

According to Todd Zegers, vice president, ITAD, Commerce & Lifecycle Services, the addition of the Lima facility has helped the company to offer ITAD services at three out of the four most populous countries in the South American region. The company is committed to open additional facilities later this year, he said. It must be noted that the company already has got facilities in Brazil and Colombia.

Meantime, Martin Garcia-Brosa, executive director Latin America, Commerce & Lifecycle Services noted that Peru is strategic expansion for Ingram Micro.

Earlier in March this year, the company had opened a full-fledged ITAD facility in Bogota, Colombia, as part of its objective to expand its presence to underserved markets.

The company now operates 16 facilities in the U.S. and an equal number of facilities in other countries. As per estimates provided by the company, it has processed approximately 26,400 short tons of used electronic devices in 2017. It repaired or refurbished 7,200 short tons and recycled around 5,600 short tons of electronics items during the year.
