SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Global gold production reached approximately 3,300 metric tons in 2025, according to data from the U.S. Geological Survey, with China, Russia and Australia emerging as the top producing nations. The latest rankings of leading gold miners highlight strong performances from major global players.
Newmont retained its position as the world’s largest gold producer, reporting 183.17 metric tons of attributable output. The company’s diversified asset base spans the Americas, Africa and Australia, with significant contributions from Nevada Gold Mines and Ghana’s Ahafo complex.

Agnico Eagle Mines secured second place with 107.23 metric tons, driven by strong output from its Canadian operations, including Detour Lake and Canadian Malartic. Barrick Mining followed closely, producing 101.24 metric tons, supported by its stake in Nevada Gold Mines.
Other major contributors included Navoi Mining and Metallurgy Company, AngloGold Ashanti and Polyus, reflecting geographically diverse production bases.
Meanwhile, Zijin Mining Group, Gold Fields, Kinross Gold and Northern Star Resources rounded out the top 10 list, underscoring the global scale and competitiveness of the gold mining sector.
