SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Ericsson announced that it has partnered with Taiwan’s leading provider of telecommunications and digital application services Far EasTone (FET) to launch an e-waste disposal and management program. Accordingly, FET has signed up for the Ericsson Product Take-Back Program- an advanced e-waste management program that has been successfully implemented in over 180 countries around the world.
The program handles electronic waste in a sustainable manner, right from collection, decommissioning, transportation and recycling of materials. It recycles more than 98% of the material content, thus contributing to significant reduction in landfill waste.

The partnership commenced in the month of April this year. It has triggered modernization of FET network by upgrading its equipment to Ericsson’s latest energy-optimizing portfolio, which promises up to 50% reduction in power consumption. The majority of the electronic waste came from radios.
David Chou, President, Ericsson Taiwan said that the company is pleased to partner with FET to enable responsible business together.
It must be noted that Ericsson has recycled more than 8,800 metric tons of materials worldwide through its Take-Back Program during the previous year. The company aims to cut emissions in the supply chain and portfolio by 50% by 2030, with the long-term ambition to achieve net zero emissions by 2040.
