The winner from among Kenyan recyclers for the most effective use of a German recycling machine will be announced.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Kenya is set to host the first Waste Electrical and Electrical Equipment (WEEE) Innovation Summit later this month.
The event will take place at Strathmore Business School in Nairobi from September 16 to 18, 2025. It is anticipated that the event, which is a component of the Kenyan-German Green Tech Innovation Program on WEEE, will improve the nation's electronic waste management industry.
Following an official opening ceremony on the first day of the Summit, seminars centred on models of the informal sector and technology for reusing lithium-ion batteries will take place. The Kenyan recycler who uses a German recycling machine the most efficiently will be named the winner.

The Summit's second and third days will be entirely devoted to workshops led by business leaders from both nations on a range of pertinent subjects. Sessions will cover subjects such novel recycling technology, scalable business solutions, and WEEE collecting strategies.
Every year, the African nation produces over 80,000 tonnes of WEEE. Less than 400 tonnes of created e-waste are recycled by the nation's two licensed recycling plants combined. The informal sector, which handles the majority of the nation's e-waste, uses antiquated and unsafe methods.
