SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): DS Smith has announced opening of new state-of-the-art laboratory at its flagship Kemsley Paper Mill in Kent, UK. The Fibre & Paper Development Laboratory is intended to support the circularity ambitions of its customers. It is the latest development in its £100 million R&D programme announced in May last year to accelerate its work on the Circular Economy.
According to company press release, DS Smith has invested £750,000 on the laboratory, aimed at co-ordinating research activities to enhance the performance and sustainability qualities of fibre-based packaging.
