SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): After the successful implementation of the first stage of Intellinova Parallel EN online monitoring system for its paper machine in Zarnesti paper mill, the company has decided to expand the project. Further to successful completion of second and third stages, the system will be capable of full y covering all rolls in the dryer section of PM1.

The upcoming stages will be implemented with the help of eight- and sixteen-channel online monitoring units supplied by SPM Bulgaria along with accelerometers and sensors by DuoTech. The project will also upgrade the Condmaster Ruby 2022 analysis and diagnostics software used by the online monitoring system.
The Stage 2 of the program was commissioned during the planned shutdown of the PM1 in June, while the third stage is expected to be finalized during the scheduled maintenance shutdown in November this year.
Dorin Carutasu, Maintenance Manager at DS Smith Zarnesti Paper Mill noted that the implementation of the first stage of the online monitoring system has helped the company to predict and prevent problems by generating valuable information about the status of the equipment. The extension of the condition monitoring project will boost its capabilities, Carutasu added.
