BEIJING (Scrap Monster): Chinese scrap metal prices posted a mixed trend on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
Copper scrap slipped slightly, aluminum scrap posted a broad-based jump across all categories, brass/bronze and stainless steel dipped, and steel scrap remained stable without any change.
Copper scrap slipped across select grades, breaking from firmer levels seen recently.
Aluminum scrap was the standout, posting gains in every category tracked on the index.
Brass/bronze scrap eased, led by lower Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices.
Stainless steel scrap inched lower on three grades while the rest held flat.
