BEIJING (Scrap Monster): BEIJING (Scrap Monster): Chinese scrap metal prices extended their declining trend, falling sharply on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Monday, September 14, 2026.

• Copper: Witnessed pronounced selling pressure

• Aluminum: Prices declined across the board, with all categories registering losses

• Brass/Bronze: Market sentiment softened, resulting in lower prices

• Stainless Steel: Registered a downward movement

• Steel: Prices held steady, showing no significant change

Copper Scrap Prices

Copper: Scrap values registered a broad-based decline across several grades on the ScrapMonster Price Index.

• #1 Copper Bare Bright, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing, and #1 Copper Wire and Tubing: Each category decreased by CNY 1,300 per MT.

• #1 Insulated Copper Wire (85% Recovery): Prices retreated by CNY 650 per MT.

• #2 Insulated Copper Wire (50% Recovery): Recorded a comparatively smaller decline of CNY 200 per MT.

• Copper Transformer Scrap, Cu Yokes, Scrap Electric Motors, and Sealed Units: All four categories slipped by CNY 50 per MT.

• Cu/Al Radiators: Values weakened by CNY 200 per MT.

• Harness Wire (35% Recovery): Registered a CNY 100 per MT decrease.

• Heater Cores: Prices fell by CNY 500 per MT.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

Aluminum: Scrap prices weakened across every category tracked by the ScrapMonster Price Index, indicating a broad-based downward movement.

• 6063 Aluminum Extrusions and Aluminum Ingots: Both categories declined by CNY 200 per metric ton.

• Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers: Prices eased by CNY 100 per MT each.

• E.C. Aluminum Wire, Old Cast, and Old Sheet: All three grades registered a CNY 200 per metric ton reduction.

• Used Beverage Cans (UBC) and Zorba 90% INF: Each category recorded a CNY 100 per MT decline.

Steel Scrap Prices

• #1 HMS: Prices remained unchanged, with the category maintaining its previous level on the Index.

• Cast Iron Scrap: Values were flat, registering no day-over-day movement.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

Stainless steel scrap prices on the ScrapMonster Price Index registered a slight decline on the Index.

• 201 SS, 304 SS Solid, 304 SS Turning, and Shred SS: Prices remained unchanged from the previous day.

• 309 SS and 316 SS Solid: Both grades edged down by CNY 50 per MT.

• 310 SS: Registered a more pronounced decline of CNY 100 per MT.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded a decline on the Index.

• Red Brass, Yellow Brass: Down by CNY 200 per MT
