Atlas Tube Opened New Steel Mill in Blytheville

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Atlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, opened its new steel mill in Blytheville, Arkansas. The second mill in the city by the company will be built at an investment of $150 million. The investment is regarded as the largest private investment in the country’s steel industry over the past decade. The announcement about the construction of the world’s largest continuous ERW tube mill was made two years ago.

Atlas Tube had recently hosted a grand event to celebrate the opening of the new mill, which was attended by members of the community. The mill is expected to create around 75 new jobs in the community. It will produce Jumbo Hollow Structural Sections (HSS) as large as 28" OD with walls up to 1" thick, said the company press release.
