SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Pittsburgh-based Alcoa Corporation announced publication of its 2024 Sustainability Report. The report provides a comprehensive overview of the company’s outstanding performance across environmental, social and governance (ESG) indicators.
According to the report, the business claimed a number of significant accomplishments from the previous year. In 2024, Alcoa conducted operations with zero worker fatalities or major injuries. Compared to 2023, when it reported two serious injuries, this is an improvement. The report claims that 86% of the electricity used in the company's smelters came from renewable sources.

Throughout the year, the Aluminum Stewardship Institute (ASI) certified 18 of the company's operating locations. In comparison to 2023, Alcoa conducted 15 supplier site collaborations, a ten-site increase. More than 12,300 volunteer hours were donated by the staff to the surrounding communities.
Alcoa spent $1.6 billion on employee wages and benefits, according to the report. It invested $8.2 million in learning and development worldwide.
According to Executive Vice President and Chief External Affairs Officer Nicol Gagstetter, the sustainability report demonstrates Alcoans' global dedication to creating a more robust and resilient business.
