Alcoa Corporation has announced a $60 million capital investment at its Massena Operations in New York, set to continue through 2028. The funding will be used to rebuild and modernize the smelter’s anode baking furnace, a critical component of the aluminum smelting process.

The project is supported by a 10-year energy contract with the New York Power Authority (NYPA), which will supply Massena Operations with 240 megawatts of competitively priced renewable energy starting April 1, 2026. The contract includes options to extend for two additional five-year terms. Additionally, the investment is supported by a $6 million grant from Empire State Development (ESD).
