The United States produced 1.744 million net tons (NT) of domestic raw steel during the week.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): According to the American Iron and Steel Institute's (AISI) most recent weekly domestic production figures, U.S. weekly raw steel production increased by about 2.0% in the week ending May 24, 2025. A comparison between this week and the same week last year served as the basis for this.
The United States produced 1.744 million net tons (NT) of domestic raw steel during the week. The domestic mill capacity was utilized at a rate of 77.6%. Keep in mind that production reached 1.709 million NT during the same week last year, with a slightly lower capacity utilization rate of 76.9%.

In comparison to the week ending May 17, 2025, when 1,720,000 net tons were produced and the capability utilization rate was 76.6%, the output increased by 1.4% in the week ending May 24, 2025.
With 755,000 net tons, the Southern region produced the most. Over the course of the week, the Great Lakes region produced 551,000 net tons. North East-127, Midwest-254, and Western-57 are the other regions' productions (in thousand net tons).
As of May 24, 2025, the adjusted year-to-date output was 34.530 million net tons, with a capability utilization rate of 75.2%. This represents a 0.6% decrease from the same period in 2024, when production was 34.752 million net tons with a capacity utilization rate of 76.1%.
