AISI Recorded Slight Increase in U.S. Raw Steel Output

The United States produced 1.787 million net tons (NT) of domestic raw steel during the week.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): According to the American Iron and Steel Institute's (AISI) most recent weekly domestic production figures, U.S. weekly raw steel production increased by roughly 4.90% during the week ending June 21, 2025. A comparison between this week and the same week last year served as the basis for this.

The United States produced 1.787 million net tons (NT) of domestic raw steel during the week. The domestic mill capacity were utilized at a rate of 79.6%. It's crucial to keep in mind that production reached 1.703 million NT in the same week last year, at a slightly lower capacity utilization rate of 76.7%.

In comparison to the week ending June 14, 2025, when 1,783,000 net tons were produced and the capability utilization rate was 79.4%, the output increased slightly by 0.2% in the week ending June 21, 2025.

With 786,000 net tons, the Southern region produced the most. Over the course of the week, the Great Lakes region produced 564,000 net tons. North East-120, Midwest-248, and Western-69 are the other regions' productions (in thousand net tons).

As of June 21, 2025, the adjusted year-to-date output was 41.642 million net tons, with a capability utilization rate of 75.8%. This represents a 0.2% increase from the same period in 2024, when production was 41.571 million net tons with a capacity utilization rate of 76.2%.
