The United States produced 6.6 million tons of steel, a slight 0.3% decline over the previous year.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The World Steel Association (worldsteel) has released the list of top 10 steel producing nations during the month of April this year.
China was at the top of the list, with output essentially unchanged from the previous year. Nationwide, 86.0 million tons of crude steel were produced during the month. 345.4 Mt was the overall output for the January–April 25 period of this year, which was 0.4% more than the same time the previous year.

India's expected output increased 7.0% from April 2024 to 12.9 Mt. This year, the country produced 53.2 million tons of steel between January and April. While Japan's monthly output saw a substantial fall of 6.4% year-over-year to 6.6 Mt, the country's overall output up to April of this year was down 5.3% from the previous year to 27.0 Mt.
6.6 million tons of steel were manufactured in the US, a 0.3% decrease from the year before. 5.8 million tons are anticipated to have been produced in Russia. South Korea (5.0), Turkey (3.0), Germany (3.0), Brazil (2.6), and Iran (3.3) are among the other nations that produce the most crude steel, ranking in the top ten in terms of million tonnes.
Among the top 10 steel-producing nations, Germany experienced the largest monthly decline in steel production, with an annual loss of 10.1%. With an annual growth rate of 7.0%, Turkiye, on the other hand, experienced the largest increase in output.
