SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Weyerhaeuser Company has announced its commitment to invest $1 million in Raymond, Washington community, through the THRIVE program- a program launched last year to provide assistance to five of its rural operating communities. As part of the program, Weyerhaeuser will make the committed investment over the next several years.
Raymond is the second community to receive the investment. Last November, the company had named Zwolle, La., and the northwest Louisiana region as the first community to benefit from THRIVE investment.
Raymond is located in Pacific County, where Weyerhaeuser has owned timberland for more than 100 years. The company has operated a lumber mill in Raymond since the early 1930s. Currently, the company employs more than 300 people in the community and surrounding Willapa Hills region.
Dee Roberts, mayor of Raymond stated that the community is excited to work together through this new partnership to help strengthen our community and region in the years to come. Meantime, Devin W. Stockfish, president and chief executive officer, Weyerhaeuser noted that the company is excited to grow its positive impact in Raymond through the THRIVE program.
