U.S. Plastics Pact Unveiled National Strategy, Sets Targets for 2025

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The U.S. Plastics Pact, led by The Recycling Partnership and World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has released a national strategy, which sets targets for 2025, aimed at achieving a global circular economy for plastics. The strategy titled ‘Roadmap to 2025’ looks to ensure that all plastic packaging will be reusable, recyclable or compostable by 2025.

The strategy is supported by nearly 100 stakeholders belonging to the plastics packaging value chain. It is also supported by state and local governments. The strategy calls for mandatory reporting, in addition to setting specific time frames to realize targeted outcomes for circular plastics economy.
