SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Upstate Shredding Weitsman Recycling announced its decision to shut operations of its Watertown scrap metal processing plant. The company has decided not to renew the license for the Ben Weitsman of Watertown scrap metal plant located at 511, Pearl St., reports said.

According to Stephen Donnelley & Associates, the company has decided against renewal of lease, as it requires significant investment towards renovations. The company expressed its unwillingness in investing in a building which ultimately is not owned by it. The company also expressed concerns over the harmful impacts of the repairs of Pearl Street Bridge on the facility.
