UAE National Held with Gold Dust Worth Rs. 1.2 Crore at Mumbai Airport

The Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of Custom officials arrested Nabil Mortaja Najah under various sections of customs act.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): A 57-year old United Arab Emirates (UAE) national smuggled 2.5kg of gold dust worth Rs 1.28 crore. He was arrested at the Mumbai International Airport on Tuesday by the Customs officers.

The Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of Custom officials arrested Nabil Mortaja Najah under various sections of customs act.

On the basis of digital profiling and intelligence the Customs officials detained Najah who was travelling from Dubai to Mumbai by Fly Dubai Airlines.

When Najah collected his luggage and walked through the green channel without declaring anything, the officials of AIU detained him and carried out a thorough check. His personal search resulted in recovery of 24 kt gold dust in wax.
