SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Tata Steel announced provisional production and delivery volumes for first quarter fiscal year 2025.
The company’s India crude steel production totalled 5.25 million tons during the quarter, slightly lower than the production of 5.40 million tons recorded during the prior quarter. The planned maintenance shutdowns impacted the quarter-on-production. The production surged higher by nearly 5% over the prior year quarter.

Year-on-year, domestic steel deliveries reported 3% surge, the company press release said. The deliveries in the automotive and special products segment witnessed 14% year-on-year surge to total around 0.8 million tons. The passenger and commercial vehicles sub-segment reported significantly strong volumes.
The liquid steel production by the company’s Netherlands unit stood at 1.72 million tons. The deliveries were up by 11% to 1.52 million tons, primarily driven by improved production. The U.K steel production totalled 0.68 million tons, whereas the deliveries stood at 0.69 million tons, the company noted.
The Tata Steel Thailand unit recorded lowest ever saleable steel production of 0.31 million tons during the quarter. Meantime, the deliveries totalled 0.31 million tons, more or less unchanged from the prior quarter.
