The competition will be held in five regions- Americas, Europe & Africa, Asia – West, Asia- North, and Asia – East and Oceania.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): steeluniversity, the education and training programme of the World Steel Association (worldsteel) announced opening of registrations for the 20th edition of steelChallenge.
A press announcement states that the regional championships will take place on November 25, 2025, starting at 12:00 UTC. In steelmaking simulators, each player must make a grade of steel while complying to carbon footprint regulations and achieving technical specifications at a reasonable cost. To be eligible to be chosen as the champion, they will have a full day to accomplish successful runs.

The competition will be place in five different regions: Asia-West, Asia-North, Asia-East and Oceania, Europe & Africa, and the Americas.
Three competition categories—industry, university student, and high school student—will be introduced for the first time. Hadeed and Techint Group will work together to deliver the High School Student category. According to the press release, everyone will be able to enter the category in 2026.
In addition to specialised training sessions, registered participants will have access to SteelUniversity's Learning Solutions Directory, where they may take e-learning courses, attend live masterclasses, engage with 3D models, and practise on the simulator.
