SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Pittsburgh-based integrated steelmaker U.S. Steel announced appointment of Kenneth Jaycox as Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. He succeeds Douglas R. Matthews, who will retire in January 2021. He will report to David B. Burritt, President and CEO, U.S. Steel.
According to company press release, Jaycox will be in charge of the company’s flat-rolled commercial activities in the North American region, with special focus on customer satisfaction, innovation, new business and market share growth.

Commenting on the appointment, Burritt noted that Ken brings new insights to accelerate the company’s capabilities with his deep commercial, operating and transformation experience. His appointment will help the company to maintain its leadership role as the innovative, material solutions provider.
Immediately before joining U.S. Steel, Jaycox has been serving as the Vice President, Transformation at Sysco Corporation, where he had been responsible for the corporation’s business transformation and optimization of sales solutions. Prior to that, he has also served in various executive capacities at International Traders/First American Carriers and Compass Group North America (Foodbuy).
Jaycox holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and marketing from Saint Louis University, Missouri.
