SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): United States Steel Corporation (U.S. Steel) released additional statement on the tragic incident at its Clairton plant, which led to death of two workers.
According to the corporation, its staff has been conducting a thorough investigation, analyzing video material, and speaking with staff members in addition to other agencies, the USW, and outside specialists. The business pledges to notify impacted families and staff as soon as information becomes available.

The company believes that the explosion occurred during the process of flushing a gas valve in anticipation of scheduled maintenance, based on initial indicators. The valve failed due to internal pressure, allowing coke oven gas to fill the space, which ultimately caused an explosion.
The statement also stated that additional details will be released as soon as they become available and that the inquiry is still in its early phases. According to the statement, employees and their families continue to be the major emphasis.
In a previous statement, the firm expressed gratitude to USW District 10 Director Bernie Hall, County Executive Innamorato, and Governor Shapiro for visiting the facility and spending time with staff, their families, and the community during these trying times.
